2025 Heritage Awards

On May 1, 2025 the community celebrated this years awardees of the Annual Sarasota County Heritage Awards. It was a magical night recognizing the hard work that goes into keeping our history alive, honoring those who dedicated their lives to preservation, and rejoicing in our wins and successes.

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend. To those who were able to give generously to ensure that the Sarasota Alliance for Historic Preservation will be able to continue providing the tools to save Sarasota's authenticity, we are eternally grateful!

Help Us Tell Their Stories: Volunteer Interviewers Needed

Our 2025 heritage award winners have incredible stories to share—from saving historic landmarks to preserving community traditions. We're looking for volunteers to conduct interviews with these remarkable individuals for our upcoming newsletter features.

This is a unique opportunity to connect one-on-one with local preservation champions, learn about their inspiring work, and help showcase their contributions to our community's history. Whether you're a seasoned interviewer or simply passionate about historic preservation, we'll provide guidance and question templates to help you succeed.

Time commitment: 1-2 hours per interview (flexible scheduling) Format: In-person, phone, or video call—whatever works best Support provided: Interview questions, recording tips, and editorial assistance
